Depart from Taipei City in the morning and take a bus to the center of Taiwan - Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area.
【Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area】
Sun Moon Lake is the largest freshwater lake in Taiwan. The Lalu Island divides the lake into two parts. Looking down from the sky, the east side looks like the sun and the west side looks like a crescent moon, hence the name Sun Moon Lake. The surface of Sun Moon Lake is emerald green and clear, surrounded by mountains and picturesque scenery. It has been the hometown of Taiwan's aboriginal Thao people since ancient times, and Lalu Island is a sacred place for the Thao people, mysterious and dreamy.
After lunch, the tour guide will take you along the lakeshore to visit the famous cultural attractions of Sun Moon Lake, including Ita Thao, the settlement of the Thao people. It is also the concentration of food and souvenir shops around Sun Moon Lake, and a famous old street that domestic and foreign tourists must visit when visiting Sun Moon Lake. Then go to the Ci'en Pagoda built by the late President Chiang Kai-shek to commemorate his mother. The Ci'en Pagoda was built on the Sabalan Mountain at an altitude of 954 meters. The tower is 46 meters high, and the top of the tower is exactly 1,000 meters above sea level. The tower is majestic and towering into the clouds. It is an important landmark building by the Sun Moon Lake.
After visiting Ci'en Pagoda, the tour will go to two majestic and unique temples near Sun Moon Lake. First, you will come to Xuanzang Temple, a Tang-style building that enshrines precious cultural relics and relics left by the eminent monk Xuanzang. With its excellent geographical location close to the mountains and the lake, it is also known as the "Blue Dragon Playing with Pearl" treasure land. Next, you will go to Wenwu Temple, a majestic Taoist temple divided into three halls, enshrining Guandi, the Great Sage Confucius, Wenchang Emperor and other important gods. Through the professional explanation of the tour guide, you will have a deeper understanding of the history and culture of Sun Moon Lake.

In the morning, after enjoying a hearty breakfast at the hotel, you will start the second day of your trip around the island. On this day, you will take a bus to Tainan, the oldest city in Taiwan. Tainan, famous for its rich historical buildings and profound cultural heritage, is the earliest developed area in Taiwan. There is a proverb that goes like this: "One Fu, two Lu, and three Mengjia." The one Fu refers to the capital of Taiwan, which is now the Anping area of Tainan.
【Anping Fort】
First, you will go to the first fortress in Taiwan's history and a well-known historical site in Tainan - Anping Fort. This fort was built in the 17th century and was originally called "Fort Zeelandia". It was built by the Dutch East India Company during the period of its rule in Taiwan. It has experienced different political rule in the meantime, including the Ming Dynasty, Zheng Zheng and Qing Dynasty. It was rebuilt during the Japanese colonial period and renamed "Anping Fort".
The main structure is made of red bricks and has a square staircase. A Western-style lighthouse was built on the staircase, which gave it the appearance that most tourists are familiar with today. Take a trip to Anping Fort and listen to the guide's in-depth introduction to this unique monument, and witness Taiwan's 400-year history together.
【Anping Old Street】
After visiting Anping Fort, it is almost lunch time. You can take a leisurely stroll in Anping Old Street. This historic old street is located on the east side of Anping Fort. It was established by the Dutch more than 300 years ago. It is the first officially developed commercial street in Taiwan, so it is known as Taiwan's No. 1 Street. The early street design was narrow, mainly because the road was only for pedestrians and carts at that time, but it also created the crowded and lively atmosphere on the old street today. Occasionally, you can still see a few Fengshiye on the top of the old houses on the street, sitting in this old street alley that retains a strong ancient style, as if time has stopped.
In addition to its long history, Anping Old Street is also famous for its unique Tainan snacks, such as tofu pudding, shrimp rolls, fish skin dishes, beef soup, etc. Now that you are here, don't miss the great opportunity to taste the classic southern Taiwanese cuisine and add a feast of food to your Tainan historical journey.
After lunch, you will head to Kaohsiung, the most prosperous international city in southern Taiwan. Kaohsiung, which was prosperous in the early days due to its industry and ports, is the most populous city in southern Taiwan. In recent years, the government has combined the port city style with cultural and creative regeneration to build Kaohsiung into a lively and beautiful port city.
【Fo Guang Shan】
After arriving in Kaohsiung, you will visit Fo Guang Shan, a world-renowned Buddhist temple founded by Master Hsing Yun in 1967. The most impressive part of this solemn temple is the "Big Buddha City". The majestic golden statue of the Buddha is 120 meters high, facing the east where the sunrise rises and overlooking the Gaoping River. It is the tallest standing Buddha in Southeast Asia. Surrounded by 480 smaller statues of the Buddha of Reception, it gives people a solemn feeling of being protected by thousands of Buddhas. Visitors who have visited will be deeply impressed by this solemn and magnificent demeanor. While visiting Fo Guang Shan, you will have the opportunity to communicate with the knowledgeable local monks and gain a deeper understanding of the teachings and development of Buddhism.
At night, stay at a five-star hotel in the center of Kaohsiung and enjoy the comfort and convenience of your stay. The hotel is conveniently located near department stores, convenience stores, and pharmacies. Take this opportunity to stock up on any extra supplies you may need for your trip.

In the morning, after enjoying a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we immediately took a bus to Kenting in the south of the border.
【Kenting National Park】
Kenting National Park is located on the southern side of Hengchun Peninsula in the southern tip of Taiwan. It is the first national park in Taiwan, surrounded by the sea on three sides and located in the only tropical area on the main island of Taiwan. The unique geological structure and warm and pleasant tropical climate in the area have nurtured a variety of amazing topographic landscapes and rich and diverse flora and fauna, making Kenting not only one of the top choices for domestic vacations, but also a paradise for surfers and snorkelers.
First, we arrived at Maobitou, a huge coral reef rock that has been repeatedly eroded by waves for a long time, forming its unique appearance today. From a distance, it looks like a giant cat squatting on the ground, hence the name.
Next, you will head to Kenting's famous landmark, the Sail Rock, which is also a classic spot where many tourists stop to take photos when visiting Kenting. The Sail Rock is about 18 meters high and was formed by an old coral reef that rolled down from the nearby terrace to the seaside. From a distance, it looks like a huge sail. Some people also think it looks like a portrait of former US President Nixon, which is particularly intriguing.
If you come to Kenting, you must not miss the most iconic attraction here - Eluanbi Lighthouse. Located at Eluanbi Cape in Pingtung County, it is the southernmost lighthouse on the main island of Taiwan. It was originally built during the Qing Dynasty and was destroyed several times. It was rebuilt and renovated during the Japanese colonial period and was listed as one of the eight scenic spots in Taiwan at that time.
Finally, we will go to Longpan Park, a limestone plateau eroded by rain. The vast tropical grassland allows visitors to enjoy the sea breeze and overlook the endless Pacific Ocean.
After exploring Kenting National Park, take a bus along the scenic South-Loop Highway to Taitung. Along the way, admire the ever-changing scenery through the car window and experience the tropical style of Tainan Bay.
Tonight, you will stay at a five-star hot spring resort hotel in Zhiben, Taitung. The local area is famous for its weak alkaline sodium bicarbonate hot springs, which can effectively improve blood circulation and relieve fatigue, allowing you to completely relax and restore your body and mind after a whole day of exploration.

After a good night's sleep and a delicious breakfast at the hotel, your Taiwan Island Tour will take you along the East Coast, which is also known as the most intact and pristine natural beauty in Taiwan, with stunning scenery everywhere. Along the way, you will stop at must-visit attractions on the East Coast, including Xiaoyeliu, Sanxiantai, Shitiping and Fanshuliao, each of which has unique natural terrain features that are dazzling.
【Xiaoyeliu】
First, we arrived at Xiaoyeliou (officially known as Fugang Geopark), which got its name because it resembles the unique and varied natural erosion landscape of Yehliu Geopark on the north coast. Here, you can observe these unique landforms up close, such as monocline ridges, honeycomb rocks, turtle array rocks, tofu rocks and mushroom rocks, just like coming to a natural stone sculpture park.
【Sanxiantai】
Then we headed to the most representative attraction on the east coast, Sanxiantai. Sanxiantai, with a total length of nearly 400 meters, is a cross-sea footbridge made up of eight arch bridges, one end of which connects to the main island of Taiwan and the other end to the offshore coral reef island. There are strange rocks scattered on the island, and there is a legend that three immortals rested on three of the huge rocks, hence the name. The first sunrise of every day in Taiwan also descends on Sanxiantai, so every New Year's Day, people from all over the world always gather here to welcome the first sunrise of the new year.
【Shitiping】
After exploring Sanxiantai, you will arrive at Shitiping, which is known as a world-class outdoor geography classroom. This area is named after the multi-layered erosion terraces. After millions of years of sea erosion and weathering, it has formed unique geological landscapes such as single-sided mountains, erosion trenches, erosion cliffs and potholes, which are amazing.
【Fanshuliao】
Before visiting the marble factory in Hualien, you will stop at Fanshuliao. Fanshuliao is named after the Fanshuliao River. The different geology on the east and west sides of the river has formed completely different landforms under the accumulation and cutting of the river water over the years. The west side is a valley basin; the east side is a steep canyon. The unique rocky canyon terrain has earned it the reputation of "Little Taroko".
【Marble Factory】
The mining and processing of marble has been an integral part of Hualien's historical economy. Before heading to your hotel, the tour will provide insight into this traditional industry that has contributed greatly to the city's prosperity, with a chance to visit a marble factory and its exhibition area.
Tonight, you will spend a peaceful and comfortable night in a luxurious five-star resort hotel in Hualien, fully recharging your energy for the world-famous natural wonder of Taroko Canyon the next day.

After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, explore the world-famous Taroko National Park. This 12.5-mile (20-km) road is the highlight of Taroko National Park, passing through winding and steep marble cliffs and canyon tunnels, allowing you to enjoy the magnificent natural wonders along the way.
Get your camera or phone ready for an unforgettable adventure in the world's largest marble canyon!
Established in 1986, Taroko National Park is located in the eastern part of Taiwan and is famous for its spectacular marble cliffs, canyon tunnels, and diverse flora and fauna. Today, you will have the opportunity to visit the most famous attractions in Taroko, including the Mother Bridge, Jiuqudong Trail, Bulowan Suspension Bridge, Changchun Shrine, Yanzikou Trail, and Qingshui Cliff.
【Mother Bridge】
First, we came to the Motherly Bridge. On the east side of the bridge, there is the "Motherly Pavilion", which was built by the late President Chiang Kai-shek in memory of his mother, Lady Wang. On the frog stone on the downstream side of the middle section of the bridge, there is the "Lanting" built by his successor, Mr. Chiang Ching-kuo, in memory of his mother.
This red cable-stayed steel bridge was originally built with Hualien's local marble, so it is also called the "Marble Bridge". However, the original bridge was destroyed by a typhoon in 1990, and the current bridge is a rebuilt one. On the east side of the bridge, you can overlook the winding river and canyon, which is quite spectacular.
【Jiuqudong Trail】
After visiting the Mother Bridge, we headed to the most beautiful section of the Taroko Gorge, the Jiuqudong Trail. In the past, due to severe mountain wall collapse, the trail was closed for renovation in 2013. After 6 years of restoration, it was reopened to the public in 2019, reappearing its beauty before the world.
Walking along the winding trail, you will see a crystal clear river on one side and a marble cliff that looks like a cave on the other. Walking through it, you can watch the changing light and shadow. The sunlight shines through the gaps in the canyon, interweaving with the unique vegetation and blue stone on the cliffs, creating a dreamlike canyon style that is unique to Taroko.
Looking down from above, the turbulent Liwu River flows for thousands of years, cutting through the deep and magnificent Marble Canyon. The scenery is breathtaking. Here you can also observe the unique geological faults and folds of the Marble Canyon up close, which is extremely charming.
【Yanzikou Trail】
Next, you will come to the Swallow's Mouth Trail. There are many small holes on the cliffs, which are potholes caused by long-term erosion of rivers and groundwater. In the past, swallows often built nests in the holes between the cliffs, so this trail is named Swallow's Mouth. As you walk through the tunnel, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the canyon, potholes, and springs.
【Buluowan Suspension Bridge】
After witnessing two of the most popular trails in Taroko National Park, your journey will take you further to visit the Buluowan Suspension Bridge, the longest suspension bridge in Taroko Canyon with the largest drop above the canyon.
The 196-meter-long and 2.5-meter-wide suspension bridge is about 152 meters above the Liwu River, providing an excellent viewing spot for visiting tourists. Looking east from the bridge, you can see the panoramic view of the Liwu River Valley; looking west, you can see the magnificent scenery of Yanzikou.
【Eternal Spring Shrine】
Before leaving Taroko Gorge, you will visit the Eternal Spring Shrine. This memorial was built in 1958 to commemorate the 225 road builders who died while building the Central Cross-Island Highway. From a distance, the waterfall cascades down from the cliffs below the shrine, like an elegant and tranquil landscape painting.
【Qingshui Cliff】
As your Taiwan island tour draws to a close, you will stop at the Qingshui Cliff. Located between Heping and Chongde, the Qingshui Cliff is over 1,000 meters high and hangs at an angle of nearly 90 degrees close to the Pacific Ocean. It is a wonder on the east coast of Taiwan and one of the eight major scenic spots in Taiwan during the Japanese colonial period.
You will then take the bus back to Taipei and arrive at your hotel or designated drop-off location in the evening.
